Team Toronto partners up to make Toronto Children’s Vaccine Day even more fun for the city’s youngest public health superheroes – City of Toronto

Team Toronto has forged some exciting partnerships that will make Toronto Children’s Vaccine Day at Scotiabank Arena even more exciting for the city’s public health superheroes aged five to 11.

Running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, Children’s Vaccine Day in Toronto was designed from top to bottom with children in mind. The one-day-only special event is superhero-themed, with kid-friendly branding, activities, basketball and hockey ticket and jersey giveaways, and entertainment by the DJ KiSS 92.5’s Clymaxxx and CityTV Breakfast Television host Devo Brown.

All aspects of Toronto Kids Vaccine Day are aimed at making young people and caregivers feel safe and relaxed while receiving their COVID-19 vaccine. Children will be greeted with a Superhero Vaccination Clinic ‘Passport’ that includes details of the four clinic stations they will pass through to help them navigate their vaccination experience with personalized stickers for each station. Team Toronto has also prepared coloring sheets, interactive activities and superhero selfie stations.

A Toronto Fire Truck and Blinky the Toronto Police Car will be parked outside the Scotiabank Arena to accommodate children and families. Inside the clinic, families can spot Toronto mascots Carlton the Bear, Raptor, Stripes and Duke the Dog, their favorite Paw Patrol Chase and Skye characters, or Toronto first responder mascot Sparky the Dog. of fire. There will also be Toronto Police support dogs on site to help children and families feel comfortable.

Team Toronto worked behind the scenes to make the day a memorable one for everyone involved. Thanks to the generosity of partners, Toronto Children’s Vaccine Day now includes a number of exciting gifts and offers:

  • Scotiabank has provided a limited number of Toronto Maple Leafs tickets, Toronto Raptors tickets and jerseys to distribute throughout the day.
  • Bell is also offering tickets for the 905 Raptors.
  • Sobeys will donate a number of gift cards for giveaways.
  • Canadian toy company Spin Master has donated thousands of Paw Patrol bandages, stickers, activity sheets and crayons as well as toys for gifts.
  • Uber offers free and discounted rides: Parents and guardians bringing their children ages 5 to 11 can get up to $ 15 off per ride to and from Scotiabank Arena. Baths and conditions of application.

Team Toronto deploys doctors and nurses from Toronto Public Health and The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) who are experts in talking with children and caregivers about vaccines as well as providing child-friendly vaccination experiences. Toronto Kids Vaccine Day is also fully accessible with accessible elevators and tracking areas.

Appointments are still available for children aged five to 11 who wish to participate in Team Toronto’s Toronto Childhood Immunization Day at Scotiabank Arena. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to make an appointment as soon as possible to have the city’s youngest community health superheroes vaccinated against COVID-19.
