A new dog grooming business is going to be launched in Bolton-le-Sands.
Francesca Frew has applied to transform the garage in her house in Mill Lane into a commercial space to enable her to provide a service that will “benefit” the local community and “the welfare of the dogs in the village”.
The garage is currently used for storage at Miss Frew’s and a town planning application submitted to Lancaster City Council reveals that she hopes to transform the space to allow her to start her own business.
Plans indicate that the garage will be soundproofed and that a new water supply will be installed. New doors and windows will also be installed.
In her application, Francesca Frew said: “I want to start my own business which will be my main source of income and will really help me financially.
“I also feel that the community will benefit from my business, helping the welfare of the dogs in the village. The size of the building will remain the same and will be insulated to limit noise.
“All dogs will be kept under control. There will be a one-in-one system with the dogs, with approximately three dogs groomed per day.
“I pick up and drop off some of the dogs to minimize traffic to my house. “
A decision on the plans will be made after a public consultation period.
