Humane Pennsylvania will host a pet adoption event at no cost

PENNSYLVANIA (WHTM) – Humane Pennsylvania announced that it will host a free, one-day adoption event at its Berks and Lancaster locations this weekend.

This free adoption event will take place on Saturday, November 19. Anyone interested will have the possibility of adopting a dog, a cat or a critter from a shelter without adoption costs.

Ty and Tina Skank are sponsoring the event and shared their excitement about the no-cost adoption event. “As two people who are dedicated to caring for our four-legged friends, we are proud to sponsor this event and hope that many adoptable pets will find loving homes!”

. All prospective adopters are required to go through Humane Pennsylvania’s adoption screening process and approval is not guaranteed.

Adoptions will include the following:

  • 30 Day Adoption Health Supplement from Humane Pennsylvania
  • Castration or sterilization (before adoption)
  • Vaccinations (including the current rabies vaccination) and deworming medications
  • Flea treatment
  • Microchip and chip registration
  • Free bag of Science Diet pet food – Puppies and dogs will receive a two pound bag and cats and kittens will receive a one pound bag

There are two locations, one located at 2195 Lincoln East Highway in Lancaster and the other at 1801 North 11th Street in Reading. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
