Dog killed, man jumps out of window to escape – NBC Boston

A dog was killed in an overnight shootout in Manchester, New Hampshire, police said.

At around 1.15am on Monday, Manchester Police were called to an Orange Street flat to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they said they found a dead dog and several casings inside the apartment.

During their investigation, police said they learned that a man known to the victims had forced his way into the apartment and started shooting, killing the dog.

People inside the apartment began to disperse and a man dived through a second story glass window in an attempt to escape, suffering serious injuries. He was later located on Myrtle Street and taken to an area hospital.

The intruder fled and remains at large, police said.

The early morning incident was one of two reported shootings in Manchester on Monday. Around 8:30 a.m., police also received a report of gunfire in the area of ​​52 Dubuque Street. Callers said they heard multiple gunshots and saw two vehicles leaving the area.

No injuries were reported, but the window of a nearby building was shattered by a bullet and casings were found on the road.
