App State Fails College of Charleston

MT. PLEASANT, SC – Second year of application status Stephanie Barbasa headed a ball into the back of the net to level the score at 1-1 in the first half, but College of Charleston delivered the final blow moments later and the Mountaineers fell 2-1 on Sunday.

Barbosa was created by a freshman Shannon Studer who delivered a long-range cross in the box. Barbosa read the pass well, timed the rebound and headed it past goaltender Katie Carrino in the 29e minute.

The Cougars scored the game-winning goal just four minutes later, as Jenna Snead was able to score her first goal of the season to regain the lead before halftime.

App State finished the contest with 12 shots, including six on goal, led by Anna Kate Highsmith who came off the bench to put her three shots on target. student, Izzi Woodand Lela Stark each finished with two shots each.

While goalkeeper Kerry Eagleston had only two stops in the afternoon, both diving into threatening areas.

The Cougars jumped on the board at just 16 minutes when Grace Powell scored her sixth goal of the season on a cross past the mouth of the goal.
